Police warn women against using Instagram..!?

Awareness program on cybercrime on behalf of Kanyakumari district police was held at a private college in Nagercoil. district Superintendent of police Badri Narayanan attended the event and spoke to the students about cybercrime. Then he said that tamil Nadu police Cyber Crime police station is functioning in the office of the district Superintendent of Police. In the last 6 months alone, women have filed 150 sexual harassment complaints. More than 200 facebook, instagram, and twitter account involved in fake and above complaints have also been disabled by the district cybercrime. Strict action has been taken against the persons involved in these cases and cases have been registered against them.
Most of the complaints were lodged by college students. It is enough to have a computer and a mobile phone with an internet connection for cybercrimes to take place. Do not talk to previously unknown people on social networking sites or talk to them because they like our posting photos. If we do not know the person, it is better to block them.

There are a lot of cybercrimes that take the photos we post and keep it intimidating. In our district, cyber crimes like employment, matrimonial, and photo bullying are on the rise. Victims of employment and matrimony have lost millions to cybercriminals. Cybercrime does not discriminate between men and women.
Also, the photos and videos we post on facebook and instagram should only be kept visible to our friends. We need to pay more attention to our security on the internet and connect only those we know in the circle of friends. Our students need to be extra vigilant on the Internet and be vigilant against being fooled by cybercriminals.
