The Crime Branch of delhi police has arrested a cunning thug who was absconding for more than a decade from Haridwar in Uttarakhand. The accused who was cheating people by claiming himself to be a doctor from AIIMS rishikesh was actually wanted in two serious cases of fraud and forgery and had been declared a criminal by the court.

Cheated in delhi and became a doctor in Haridwar

According to delhi police, the arrested accused has been identified as doctor Rajkumar Sharma who was absconding since the year 2007. He had changed his identity and started his new life in Haridwar with the name of doctor sahab. There he was gaining respect among the people by claiming himself to be a doctor from AIIMS Rishikesh.

According to delhi police, in a case registered in 2007, the accused had taken a car on loan from government banks on the basis of fake documents. A total of 6 people were arrested in this case, including Rajkumar. A car was also recovered, which he had financed by fraud. He did not appear in court during the trial.

In another case, in 2015, he cheated two people of about 14.10 lakhs by selling a plot on the basis of fake documents. When the victims put pressure, the accused gave a cheque of 26 lakhs which was of an account that had already been closed. After this, the accused vacated the house overnight and absconded. The Anti Robbery and Surveillance Cell of delhi police formed a team to catch the accused. After this, on the basis of intelligence information, on the night of 11-12 June, the accused was arrested from his house in Haridwar on the basis of mobile surveillance and technical surveillance.

delhi police has called it a big success to catch the accused who was absconding for the last 10 years, however, the delhi police team has given information about the arrested accused to the concerned police stations Crime Branch and Burari police station. In the coming days, the accused will be produced in the court and further action will be taken.
