India's strength will increase, destroyer warship Mormugao will join Navy on december 18, know its features

Defense minister Rajnath Singh will dedicate the indigenously built P15B stealth guided missile destroyer warship 'Mormugao' to the indian Navy on 18 December. It will be inducted into the Navy at Naval Dockyard, Mumbai. This will increase the indian Navy's reach in the indian Ocean and will further strengthen the security of the country's maritime borders. The Defense Ministry gave this information on Friday.

The destroyer warship has been designed by the indian Navy's 'Warship Design Bureau' and built by Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited, Mumbai. INS Mormugao is named after the historic port city of goa on the west coast. INM Mormugao put to sea for the first time on december 19 last year, marking 60 years of the liberation of goa from Portuguese rule.

INS Mormugao is equipped with missiles like BrahMos and Barak-8. It is equipped with Israel's MF-STAR radar, which can detect long-range targets in the air. INS Mormugao, armed with a 127 mm gun, is capable of engaging targets up to 300 km away. It is fitted with an AK-630 anti-missile gun system. In addition, it is also equipped with an anti-submarine rocket launcher.
