Wearing Headscarf: Separate Class Room..?


The Development Committee of Kundapura government PU college has made a decision regarding students wearing Hijabs or headscarves. They have decided that separate classrooms for all Muslim girls who asked to be allowed in class wearing hijabs. Spokesperson Mohandas said that the college has a history of 135 years. They cannot suffer chaos and confusion due to unnecessary controversies.

All the Muslim girls who were distressing outside the college will be given a separate classroom. They will be allowed inside the common classroom only if they take out or remove the headscarves. They also requested the parent's support for the college administration to fulfill or solve the obligations. All students must obey or stick to the uniform code irrespective of any religion.
They should follow the dress code of the college which is prescribed in the institution. No Shawls or headscarves will be allowed. All this issue started when a group of students wearing hijabs was sitting outside the college and listening to the class for many days. The Principal of the college did not allow the students who wore hijabs inside the college. students were camping outside the college due to this.
