World Kidney Day 2023: World Kidney Day is observed worldwide on the second thursday of march every year to raise awareness about physical health. It is a joint effort of the international Society of Nephrology (ISN) and the international Federation of Kidney Foundations - World Renal Alliance. Since 2006, World Kidney Day has been observed to create awareness to keep kidneys healthy. Accordingly, every year under one kidney, World Kidney Day is observed.
History:

The first World Kidney Day is celebrated every year and the day has been observed to include the kidney disease (CKD), and its impact of hypertension, diabetes, and other health conditions affecting these organs like the fetus, as well as the kidney health of women and children. In recent times, attention has also been focused on the prevention and diagnosis of kidney disease.
Objectives:
World Kidney Day has many purposes. It aims to create awareness about the significance of kidneys and their important functions in the body. Another objective is to highlight that chronic kidney disease is strongly associated with diabetes and hypertension. The campaign encourages proper screening of all patients with diabetes and hypertension.
Another objective is to emphasize the important role of medical professionals in identifying the risk of chronic kidney disease and reducing its impact. Also, World Kidney Day emphasizes the importance of local and national health authorities controlling chronic kidney disease. Encourages governments to invest in urology testing.
Importance:

Kidney play an important role in removing all waste and excess fluids from our body, regulating our blood pressure, producing RBC, and maintaining the balance of electrolytes in our body.
