Ramadas urged federal and state governments to take action on a wartime basis to address vitamin D deficiency.

PMK founder Ramdas said in an article in the london - based journal Nature that how many Asian people, including india, are suffering from vitamin D deficiency.

Vitamin D in human blood is less than 30 nanograms/ml. If the vitamin D level is less than 12 nanograms/ml it is a severe deficiency. 49 crore people in india are vitamin D deficient; More than 20 per cent of the indian population suffers from severe vitamin D deficiency, according to the journal Nature Science.

Another study conducted in india in May last year revealed that 76 per cent of the indian population is vitamin D deficient. In chennai, 55 per cent of people between the ages of 35 & 55 suffer from vitamin D deficiency. About 80% of obese people in chennai have this defect.

Is vitamin D Deficiency a Disease? Of course not. That's a flaw. But, it will lower the immunity. Therefore, all types of infectious diseases are highly contagious in humans.

Vitamin D deficiency reduces bone stability, which can lead to fractures. All of these can lead to side effects including insomnia, depression, lack of happiness, and frequent mood swings. vitamin D deficiency can be relieved by course.

Vitamin D is also found in vegetarian foods such as orange juice, milk, cheese, and whole grains, including egg yolks, tuna, mackerel, salmon, fish oil, beef fat, and pork fat. Adding these to the diet can increase the amount of vitamin D in the body to some extent. But diet alone does not cure vitamin D deficiency.

People between the ages of one and 70 need 600 international units and those over the age of 70 need 800 international units of vitamin D. This amount of vitamin D is not available only through food.

In india, especially in tamil Nadu, where there is a lot of sunlight, the solution is to let the sunshine on our body and for adults to take extra vitamin D tablets. But, in our country, the fear of corona spread, people working from home, including air-conditioned offices has become even more miraculous as people walk in the sunlight.

Vitamin D deficiency usually begins in adolescence. The main reason for this is that children are less likely to go out and play. sports lessons in schools are now gone.

The evening sun is high in vitamin D. The sports course is held in the evening just because it should be available for children.

But now that scores have become paramount, school administrations do not allow the game; The parents did not like it either.

If this is the case with students, it is because they are less likely to walk outside.

Young men and women apply sunscreen to protect their skin from the sun, so sun exposure does not occur on the face; So they are deficient in vitamin D. We need to change these to protect ourselves.

Vitamin D deficiency like diabetes is going to become a huge problem in the future. With that in mind, the government of tamil Nadu should develop and implement a special program to prevent vitamin D deficiency.

It's a phase in school sports that should be mandatory for 5 courses per week. A large number of parks and playgrounds should be set up to accommodate people walking in the evening sun.

He urged the central and state governments to take steps to create awareness among the people about the dangers of vitamin D deficiency and the steps to be taken to alleviate it.
