
IIT kanpur will make cheap medical equipment with the help of Gangwal School…
Cheap and state-of-the-art medical equipment will be developed in the Gangwal school of Medical Sciences technology being built on the IIT kanpur campus. Scientists at the Gangwal school will conduct research to develop medical devices. In the initial phase, these equipment will be used in the country. Gradually these will be made available to other medical institutions of the world as well.
Research and Development Head Prof. Gangwal school of Medical Sciences and technology being built in the institute. amitabh Bandopadhyay told that soon such medical equipment will be made which will be useful to the public and will be cheap. In the initial phase, endoscopes will be made, which will not only be cheap but will also be equipped with many state-of-the-art facilities. For this, a research lab is also being set up in IIT.
Alumni will also help
An automatic wheelchair will be developed which will run like a driverless car. A percutaneous access device is being developed, which with the help of a catheter will be able to deliver the necessary equipment through a pipe to the heart of heart patients. Many devices will be developed, which will be able to prevent hospital infection. The alumni of the institute will also help financially in developing these devices.
Work will be done from IIT and alumni fund
How will the funds be arranged to prepare these equipments. On this Prof. amitabh told that at present the work has been started from the fund of the alumni. There will also be funding from IIT Kanpur. Apart from this, we are also writing letters to many funding agencies. This will make our work easier.
