Kantara, directed by Rishab Shetty, is sweeping the box office thanks to rave praise from all quarters. The film's portrayal of the bhoota ritual as a component of Hindu traditions has drawn criticism throughout the previous few weeks, nevertheless. The use of a "such a video to encourage superstition and hate is the worst failure for humanity," commented kishore in support of the movie on Instagram. The movie made more than Rs 150 crore worldwide.

Due to accusations of plagiarism from Thaikudam Brige, the kannada movie Kantara is currently embroiled in legal issues. The Keralan music group announced that they would file a lawsuit against them. Actor-director Rishab Shetty sparked a debate earlier in october by claiming that the bhootas are a part of Hindu culture. This led to a debate concerning the Dakshina kannada region's bhoota tradition, which is based on opposing viewpoints.

Kishore, who has a major part in Kantara, broke his silence on the ongoing argument by posting on Instagram. He stated: "Those who are painting the colour of dharma on our folk deities, the Bhoota of Kola and the Daiva of Nema, are asked to take Kantara and dharma into consideration. Why do we fail to recognise the colour of Adharma in the practise of untouchability, which forbids someone wearing the vesha of the same daiva from entering the home of the upper caste feudals and requires him to be purified with holy water before doing so? Why can't we recognise the dharma of Garnalu Saheb's supreme act of selflessness, the detonation of a bomb to save his people? (sic)."
