On social media, a number of scams are being perpetrated utilising images of movie stars. In one such terrible scam, a woman posing as prominent South indian actress Keerthy suresh devised and carried out the scheme. After some editing, Manjula, a karnataka native from the Hassan district, created a facebook account and used actress Keerthy Suresh's image as her profile picture. 

From that account, she had contacted males with friend requests. She accepted the request, and Parasurama from the state's Vijayapur district quickly began dating her online. manjula deceived Parasurama into believing that she is a college student so that they could communicate on WhatsApp. Assuming he is dating a college girl, Parasurama began sending manjula presents when she subtly proposed love to him. 

Under the guise of supporting his college tuition, she then began extorting money from him. Caught in the love trap, Parasurama sent her money whenever she requested it. As time passed, manjula started blackmailing Parasurama after filming him taking a bath in his underwear. The fraud victim complained to the authorities after becoming weary of handing manjula thousands of rupees because he could not stand her abuse.

When it became clear that manjula was not a college student but rather a married woman with two children, the cybercrime police launched an investigation and detained her. Furthermore, it has come to light that Manjula's husband participated in the fraud. The husband is running away, and the police are searching for him. According to reports, manjula used the money she was paid through extortion to build houses in addition to leading a luxury lifestyle with a car, bike, and 100 grammes of gold. Additionally, the authorities are looking into whether she has defrauded anyone else in this way.
