Court Orders Passport Return


Rhea Chakraborty received her passport back after it was seized in 2020 by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).


The bombay high court (HC) directed the NCB to restore her passport, citing no reason to doubt her intentions.


Justice Neela Gokhale, heading the bench, approved the return with specific conditions.

Rhea shared her joy on Instagram, posting a photo holding her passport.

Passport Return Conditions


Must attend every hearing unless exempted by the trial court.


Required to provide travel details (flight and hotel) to the prosecution at least four days before leaving India.


Must share mobile number, keep phone active, and notify probe agencies immediately upon return.



Background


Rhea was taken into NCB custody on september 8, 2020, in connection with a drugs case linked to sushant singh Rajput’s death on june 14, 2020.


She was granted bail under the condition of surrendering her passport.


The passport seizure had restricted her ability to pursue professional assignments abroad.
