Despite the horror franchise's new setting, writer/director Lee Cronin claims that the apartment in Evil Dead Rise will have the same atmosphere as the cabin in sam Raimi's original movies. In the upcoming episode of the well-liked horror series, a young woman will play a sister who lives alone in a small apartment in Los Angeles. While visiting her, the sister and her family discover a mysterious book that causes the Deadites' dreadful evil to descend upon them.

Although it is presently unknown how Evil Dead Rise fits into the bigger franchise, the director is determined to retain a significant aspect from the previous movies. In an interview with Total Film (via GamesRadar) to mark the debut of the movie's trailer, Lee Cronin shared some details about how Evil Dead Rise was created. The writer/director explained how he tried to recreate the same atmosphere of the cabin from the vintage Raimi horror flicks with the apartment setting of the new movie when talking about the development of the franchise to a new location.

Although Fede lvarez's 2013 rebootquel maintained the series on screens for a few years, Evil Dead Rise will be the series' first theatrical episode in ten years. But unlike the upcoming movie, 2013's Evil Dead relocated the story's action to a remote cabin in the woods, where a group of college-aged individuals discovered the Necronomicon ex Mortis, also known as the Book of the Dead, which sparked the Deadites' awakening and the group's horrific deaths as a result of their possession.
