Telugu film makers decided a few months ago not to mention the streaming services during pre- and post-release promotions for their movies. The decision was made, according to the producers, to encourage audiences to give their movies a greater opportunity in theatres. But everything has changed now. Even before the filming is finished, the producers are excitedly publicising their arrangements with streaming services.

The producers of Chiranjeevi's Bholaa shankar are announcing with pride that Netflix has acquired the rights to the film. Even though the movie is barely 30 to 40% finished, a contract has already been reached by the creators. Similar to this, Netflix has also acquired anushka and naveen Polishetty's film, which is still a long way from being released, and there has already been an official statement. Other examples include Sai Dharam Tej's Virupaksha, Kalyanram's Amigos, and Sidhu Jonnalagadda's Tillu Square, albeit Tillu Square will continue to generate some buzz due to its sequel potential.

The producers asserted that people are becoming less interested in seeing their movies in theatres as a result of OTT partnerships and their announcements. As a result, they won't mention the names of their OTT partners in the pre-release publicity. But now, when the movies aren't even 50% finished, they are publicly and proudly revealing their ott deals. This only serves to highlight the industry's use of two different standards. Now, the producers shouldn't whine if the audience hesitates to purchase a ticket for their film.
