Mollywood sources have stated that it has been 10 years since the film Classmates released and it was on August 25th, 2016, that the film has hit the theatres of Kerala, bringing waves of freshness to the Malayalam film industry. The film directed by Lal Jose had a bunch of young actors in the supreme roles.
The film features Prithviraj, Jayasurya, Indrajith, Narain, Kavya Madhavan, Radhika etc. in prominent role. In fact, the casting of the film was perfect and it set the tone for the film. Meanwhile nobody has thought that Jayasurya would fit in to a character with a negative shade. But the actor has proved his versatility with the role of Satishan Kanjikuzhy.
Similarly the role of Pious was handed over to Indrajith and for the first time, Indrajith has handled a role with a comic angle and the casting has turned out to be perfect. Same is the case of Narain, who was cast in the role of Murali.
“Classmates” were a trendsetter back then and the film went on to break many collection records and has become an industry hit, breaking the records earlier set by Rajamanikyam. “Classmates” was also remade in to Tamil, Telugu and Marathi languages.
