Veteran comedy Actor vivek passed away early morning today at SIMS Hospital in Chennai. He was 59 years old. The padma shri awardee actor was admitted to the intensive care unit of SIMS hospital in Vadapalani after he suffered from a heart attack. The actor has fainted after expressing discomfort and his family admitted him to the SIMS hospital in Vadapalani.

He was brought to the hospital in an unconscious state. He underwent an emergency coronary angiogram followed by angioplasty. He was on extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) in the intensive care unit of the hospital. Despite the treatments, he took his last breath today early morning around 5 am and various film celebrities are paying their last respects to the actor.

Samantha akkineni who never had a chance to act along with him took facebook to share her condolences on the actor. She posted, "
My heart feels heavy as I write this. vivek sir's passing feels like a personal loss. He was an actor, comedian, environmentalist, and a great human being. My deep condolences to vivek sir's family.
You will forever be a part of us. May your soul rest in peace. "
