Samantha akkineni was last seen in the movie 'Jaanu' and currently she anticipates the release of 'The Family Man' season 2. She will be essaying the role of Raji in the web series. Now, she has signed a tamil movie titled 'Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal' which will be a triangular romantic comedy written and directed by Vignesh Shivan.


The movie will also feature Lady super star Nayanthara in the lead role. vijay sethupathi will be doing the male lead role. The team has a strong technical team comprising of anirudh for music and Sreekar prasad for Editing.Vijay Kartik Kannan handles the cinematography. Initially, the team planned the movie with siva karthikeyan in the lead role and trisha and nayantara were considered as the female lead roles. 


But, trisha walked out of the project citing schedule conflicts and she was replaced by Samantha. This movie also marks the debut of Shweta Sabu Cyril (daughter of veteran art director Sabu Cyril), who joined the film's team as the production designer.
