Valimai, Ajith's film, which was released on february 24 to mixed reviews from the public and critics, has amassed worldwide box office receipts. Following the film's premiere, H Vinoth, the filmmaker of valimai, has spoken up for the first time regarding the movie's response by mainstream audiences. He cleared the air by stating that the film's target audience was young people, and that it eventually became a family film.

He said, "Valimai isn't precisely what one segment of the audience—the kids—believes it to be. The film contains a powerful message on peer pressure and societal issues that young people face in today's society. This is another important topic, similar to female empowerment. There are some young people who have been subjected to the wrath of society because they have failed to find a suitable profession.

They are conditioned to want money and fame as a result of the system. I've seen young lads who can't afford three meals a day and a place to stay while pursuing this goal. Ironically, when they reach their goals, they will have little time to eat or sleep. This is the main plot of valimai, which we wanted to tell the audience. Young people, like women, are appraised in society based on particular criteria such as achievement, occupations, titles, and financial resources. Some people are able to do it, while others are not.

They are pressed by their family and siblings at one point, and comparisons are made. They end up on the wrong track and become addicted to drugs and alcohol. The narrative of valimai has explored things concerning teenagers who are mislead and end up becoming revolutionaries without encouraging alcoholism or drug misuse. Furthermore, a narrative like this has struck a chord with women and families. Young people have overlooked the story's potential and the lesson it contains for them."
