Sam Neill outlines how the nonstop action in Jurassic World Dominion differs from Steven Spielberg's slow-burn pacing of Jurassic Park. Neill first appeared in Spielberg's brilliant adaptation of Michael Crichton's 1990 novel Jurassic Park as palaeontologist Dr. Alan Grant. The Lost World, a 1997 sequel directed by Spielberg and based on a Crichton novel, was not nearly as highly received as the original, and it did not star Neill, instead centering on Jeff Goldblum's flamboyant mathematician, Dr. Ian Malcolm.

In 2001's Jurassic Park III, Neill reprised his role as the lead, with Joe Johnston replacing Spielberg as director. Now, the original Jurassic Park trio of Neill, Goldblum, and Laura Dern will reunite in Jurassic World Dominion, one of the summer's biggest movies. Dominion, the third movie in the Jurassic World reboot series that began in 2015, starts up four years after the events of 2018's Fallen Kingdom, which saw dinosaurs released from captivity to freely roam Earth and coexist with humans. Members of the Jurassic World cast, including chris Pratt and Bryce dallas Howard, will join the Park actors.

Neill addresses his return to the Jurassic franchise in a recent interview with The sunday Times, and reveals one big difference between Dominion and the 1993 Jurassic Park. Dominion, according to Neill, is practically nonstop action, in stark contrast to Spielberg's slow-burn pacing in Jurassic Park, which Neill believes would not appeal to modern audiences.
