Atlee to make romantic movie with Shah Rukh Khan!!!
Rajkumar Hirani is to bollywood what atlee is most likely to tamil cinema. Each of his films has been a bigger hit than the one before it. raja Rani (2013) was his first film before moving on to produce three star vehicles with Vijay and creating the mass formula that has come to be associated with him. In an exclusive interview, atlee discusses his most recent mass action film, Jawan, how he painted Shah Rukh Khan in his signature colours, and how he created vikram Rathore's magnetic appeal. Before being a filmmaker, you claimed to be a fan. Which Shah Rukh Khan do you like, though? The one from karan johar and yash Chopra's love stories? who played the evil characters Darr, Baazigar, and Don? Or the one from films about national pride like Hey Ram, Swades, and Chak De! India? any of the films you mentioned.
Each of these can be found in Jawan. I have without a good reason watched them all. I'll watch any of his films that air on television or OTT. I first saw most of his films when I was a young child. I watched Chak De! and other shows when I was younger. I don't know why, but I just love him. I'll watch anything he is involved with.
But what sort of Shah Rukh did you want to represent through Jawan and honour?
Shah Rukh Khan's mass avatar was something I wanted to make. That seemed to be a little bit of an uncharted territory. Additionally, he didn't investigate it; perhaps he was saving it for me, I laugh. He did overdo it with films like Don. But the mass layer was still to come. So I took it. I consider myself to be a very skilled writer-director.
