One film that has been plagued by problems since its start is Vikram's dhruva Natachitram, which is produced and directed by the multi-talented gautham Menon. The film was meant to be released today (November 24), however, the telugu version has yet to be released, and the tamil version is in full disarray. Here's what happened.

Dhruva nakshatram began with Suriya in 2013, was shelved, and was relaunched in 2017 with vikram at the helm. However, due to budgetary restrictions, the picture remained in the production pipeline for a long period and had previously missed many release dates.

Even in his most recent interviews with tamil media, director Gowtham Menon, who also produced the picture, emphasized that while the legal suits on this Vikram-starrer, dubbed dhruva nakshatram in telugu, were cleared, they still had to pay 3-4 investors. Though he expressed confidence that he would pay them off in the following few days, it has emerged that the loans were not approved, and therefore the film's premiere has been delayed once again.

While tamil cinemas began accepting reservations, telugu theatres did not. Sources close to the film's release revealed that they don't know when the telugu version would be released. If the picture misses today's window, there aren't going to be any more slots available until the end of january for the film to receive a huge release. Meanwhile, Vikram's other film Thangalaan is set to be released on january 26, 2024.
