'Nadaaniyan' film evaluation: the way to peddle clothier nonsense

She's the poster princess of privilege, currently navigating the finest crisis of her life—"now "not being taken seriously" by her family and frothy circle of buddies.

He is the closing brains-and-brawn mixture, who is satisfied that lifting his blouse and flashing his six-pack is all it takes to win a school debate competition. Who needs arguments if you have abs?

Together, Ibrahim ali Khan and Khushi Kapoor shape the superficial pair in 'Nadaaniyan,' a clothier drama serving absurdity by the dozen. In the battle of fluff, this one steals the crown from karan Johar's 'Scholar of the Year' collection.

Here's the 'story': She hires him as a boyfriend for Rs 25,000 every week—simply to persuade her besties that she is not single! He is going along for the trip, putting Insta-ideal poses for cherished-up photographs.

But the 'rom-com' derails fast. She's the 'it' female of the elite delhi faculty. And he's merely the son of a doctor from a tier metropolis! Earth-shattering 'class divide,' indeed!

The guy endures public humiliation on the female's celebration, wherein her mother (Mahima Chaudhry, in peak catty mode) broadcasts that he's undeserving for her daughter.

Because the recoil-fest drags on, suniel shetty strides in as Khushi Kapoor's estranged but 'cool' dad. However, he wastes no time airing his sadness over the lack of a son to uphold the family legacy of 'Jaisingh & Sons.'.

A movie so without substance, even a soap bubble feels weighty in comparison.
