She said that in 1998, during the shooting of the film Chandralekha with South superstar nagarjuna, she was slapped several times at her own will to bring authenticity in a scene.

While talking to hindi Rush, Isha said, "I was slapped by Nagarjuna. I am a completely dedicated artist, and I wanted to act in a real, methodical way. So when he slapped me, I did not feel anything. This was my second film, so I told him, 'Naag, you have to slap me.' He said, 'Are you sure? No, I can't.' I said, 'I want that feeling. I am not getting that feeling right now. So he slapped me, but slowly.'"
Isha said that she was not able to show the anger required for the scene, and the camera was not able to capture her expressions properly. As a result, the director was repeatedly asking for more takes. During this, she was slapped 14-15 times. She said, "I was slapped 14 times while trying to look angry."
By the end of the shooting, the marks on Isha's face
were visible. She further said, "I had marks on my face. The poor guy sat with me and said sorry, I said, 'I said it, why are you apologizing?'"
