Hyderabad sources have made a statement that Rachakonda police had nabbed four dreaded dacoits said to have robbed a truck load of cigarettes worth Rs.4.11 crore on August 18. Accordingly Rachakonda police commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat while producing the accused Rajaram Malvi, Hakam Singh, Sunil Chawda and Rajababu alias Satish said they belong to Kanjar community which is notorious for dacoits in Madhya Pradesh.



Sources have reported that the robbery took place near Pedda Amberpet under Hayathnagar police station of Rachakonda Commissionerate of the city where the truck driver Akhilesh Kumar Yadav, a native of Nawada in Bihar was driving the truck to Tirupathi after loading the cigarettes at Musheerabad.

The gang followed the truck in two Sumo vans and a lorry and attacked the driver before fleeing with the cigarette load. Eight people boarded his truck's cabin, tied his hands and legs, and threatened to kill him. Moreover Bhagwat said his team worked very hard and nabbed the gang. A portion of the cigarette load was also recovered from them.
