Kadapa district is strong bastion for YSR family since last 3 decades. In 2009, Congress has won 9 out of 10 Assembly Segments in the District. Except in Proddutur (TDP), Congress flag had hoisted everywhere in the district. Late YSR strengthen the Congress party and personal influence as well after he comes into power in 2004 general elections. Those days are all gone.
YSR legacy transferred to his son YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in Kadapa. Jagan’s popularity was slowly come down in the district. YSRCP district leaders are also worried on diluting Jagan’s fame. Party is not able to confirm its candidates in Kamalapuram and Mydukur segments. Jagan is not confident on his uncle’s win in Kamalapuram segment. Putta Narasimha Reddy from TDP is strong enough than Ravindranath Reddy. Jagan gave assurance to Raghunath Reddy in Mydukur but in dilemma in finalizing the ticket. Here also TDP nominee Sudhakar Yadav is strong candidate. Reportedly, TDP candidate bags BC votes on whole.
Produtur sitting TDP MLA Linga Reddy is mingle with the people after Congress decision on Telangana. Jagan is searching for capable candidate to counter Linga Reddy. MLA Amarnath Reddy also struggling to win in Rajampet. Amarnath Reddy neglects the segment during since last 4 years. People are getting angry over sitting MLA. Jagan is in thought of changing of the candidate. Jagan has planned to field Anjan Pasha from Kadapa Segment. Other minority leaders are denying Jagan decision.
