Till now, only industry which is surviving due to corona is media. However, less advertisements, problem of coverage of news have become challenge to electronic and print media. In newspaper, more staff is involved compared to e-media due to several phases like editing, printing, distributing and distribution to readers. Staff is involved in every stage where the employment is high.
It is known that recession reached media also where salaries are delayed, cut down by 20 to 40%. Now, there are chances to shut down the printing of newspaper and maintaining only e paper. Less advertisements, classifieds, low circulation of paper has made the situation bad.
Recently eenadu Chairman ramoji rao conducted a meeting to discuss the low productivity of newspaper. He ordered to focus on e paper than printing paper. He decided to stop printing during corona but at last moment, he changed the decision to wait for another couple of months.
Eenadu paper has a history of decades. It was the only reliable paper till C B N issue just before death of N T R. If a newspaper like eenadu takes such decision, what about the other newspapers in future?
