The andhra pradesh government directed the Minorities department officials to make arrangements for the establishement of Waqf tribunal in the kurnool district, the proposed judicial capital of the State. The jagan Mohan Reddy-led government has earlier decided to relocate the ap State Human Rights Commission and ap Lokayukta to Kurnool.

Chief minister jagan reddy asked the officials to ensure the arrangements for the Waqf tribunal establishment during his review meeting at his camp office in tadepalli on Monday. He said that steps need to be taken to protect all Waqf lands from encroachments by constructing compound walls under MNREG scheme. cm jagan also told the officials to find a suitable land in vijayawada or guntur to build ap Haj House.

The move came after officials informed the cm that 500 acres of waqf land was retrieved in the last two years which was encroached.

Jagan Mohan reddy also instructed the officials to take up all repairs and renovation works for Mosques, schools, Colleges and hostels of minorities, while reviewing the progress of works on urdu University in Kurnool. He also ordered officials to identify suitable land for burial grounds allocation.

The cm also asked them to encourage youth belonging to minority community to develop skill at government training centres.
