An Israeli tech firm named NSO Group has developed the Pegasus surveillance software. NSO Group specializes in making special cyber weapons. Pegasus first came into limelight when the software was allegedly used to hack the iphone of an Arab human rights activist in 2016. iphone maker apple had released an iOS update a few days after the alleged incident which strengthened the security system. It was being claimed that continuous hacking attempts were being made through Pegasus.
