On sunday, various areas of hyderabad were hit by a rain and strong gusts, providing a much-needed break from the heat. The IMD-Hyderabad predicted on sunday that thunderstorms, gales, and lightning are likely to continue in the city and a few surrounding districts for the next 48 hours, or until tuesday, before the highest daytime temperatures start to rise once more.

The perfect circumstances for summer thundershowers on sunday were produced by the highest daytime temperatures in hyderabad reaching up to 43 degrees C and a steady rise in humidity. In hyderabad, the sky remained gloomy from dawn on. The highest daily temperatures gradually increased during the course of the day, peaking at 39 degrees C. But by dusk, some areas of the city were being battered by gales and thundershowers.

At first, Chandanagar, BHEL, RC Puram, Patancheru, Lingampally, Tellapur, Nizampet, Quthbullapur, Jeedimetla, and kukatpally were all experiencing thundershowers. Later, thunderstorms and strong gusts of 30 to 40 kph hit additional areas like Madhapur, Kondapur, Kompally, Chintal, Alwal, Yapral, Keesara, Bollaram, Yapral, Neredmet, and ECIL.

Issuing a yellow warning, the IMD-H said thundershowers, lightning and gusty winds would continue to remain active on monday and tuesday in hyderabad, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Adilabad, Kumaram bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, yadadri Bhongir, Rangareddy, Vikarabad, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet and Jogulamba Gadwal.

On wednesday and beyond, dry conditions will predominate, and Adilabad, Kumaram bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, bhadradri Kothagudem, and mahabubabad are likely to see hot conditions. On sunday, Medchal-Malkajgiri (36.88 mm), portions of Serilingampally (23.5 mm), ramachandrapuram in the sangareddy district (23 mm), Gachibowli (17.8 mm), and BHEL (17.5 mm) all saw severe rainfall.
