With the impressive number of votes as well as seats that the YSCRP party had gained in recent polls, it is more or less certain that it has taken the opposition space by clearly trouncing the Congress party.
For the first time in its history, Congress party was wiped off from Andhra region and it may take even a decade for the party to revive given the current trends. But the party may have stumbled upon a sudden opportunity, with the perceived decline of Jagan and his party.
Jagan only came in place of Congress and has taken the same vote bank but there are estimated that irrespective of being jailed again or not, unless Jagan goes for course correction, it is impossible to keep the party afloat.
Hence there is now hope among the handful Seemandhra Congress leaders that Jagan’s decline may be the right push for Congress resurgence once again while analysts say that this is possible only if there is a mass leader, even as BJP is silently planning to take this place in case YSRCP fades off.
