Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached kanpur on 28 December. Here he inaugurated the kanpur Metro. During the inauguration, he addressed the public meeting and also mentioned the famous 'Thaggu Ke Laddu' of Kanpur.

He said that 'people may say that there is no such fraud, whom we have not cheated. But there is no one for me who has not got affection in Kanpur. Actually, there is no such relationship, whom we have not cheated' is the tagline of Kanpur's famous shop Thuggu Ke Laddu, which PM Modi mentioned in his speech.

Atal Bihari Vajpayee was also very much liked. Apart from this, the famous people of the country also like the laddus here. The story behind the name 'Thaggu Ke Laddu' is quite interesting, so let's know how it got its name 'Thaggu Ke Laddu'. Everyone who visits kanpur and lives there loves the taste of 'Thaggu Ke Laddu'.
This shop was started by ram Avtar Pandey about 60 years ago. He had created a tagline for his shop. Which is 'there is no friend whom we have not cheated' which literally means 'there is no one whom we have not cheated'. The third generation of ram Avtar Pandey i.e. adarsh Pandey is currently running his shop.

During an interview, he told that the story behind the name of this sweet shop of his grandfather is related to mahatma Gandhi. He told, 'My grandfather once went to delhi to listen to mahatma Gandhi's speech. At that time gandhiji had called sugar 'white poison' and also told its disadvantages.

Due to being cheap and easily available, Grandfather also used to make laddus of sugar. After listening to Gandhiji's speech, he was worried that how would he sell laddus made of sugar? He then renamed his shop 'Thaggu Ke Laddu' to warn customers about the ill effects of sugar. So that people come to know that they are being harmed by eating sugar laddoos.

According to adarsh Pandey, these laddus are quite different from the common laddoos. They have a method by which they prepare laddus.
In these laddus, semolina, khoya, gum, sugar, cashew, cardamom, almond, pistachio, etc. are mixed.

Due to the mixing of many indigenous items in laddus, they can benefit the body in various ways. Desi ghee is used in these and these laddus are made daily basis only.
