All district police have been directed by DGP Sylenthrababu not to retain detainees in police stations at night. Those apprehended in a variety of crimes, including murder, robbery, burglary, and theft, will be hauled to the police station and interrogated before confessing. The culprits will be brought to court and remanded in judicial custody as a result of this. If they are found to be innocent, they will be released immediately. Some offenders may refuse to admit their wrongdoing right away. As a result, the cops will look into it and find out the truth. There have also been instances where some people's health has been harmed as a result of the police's thorough probe.

Meanwhile, Vignesh, a young guy who was recently found with cannabis and a knife during a vehicle check at the chennai Purasavakkam Kellis junction, died of his injuries at the HQP police station. Thangamani, too, died in the Thiruvannamalai district. The deaths have been placed on the police by their families. Following this, DGP Silenthrababu directed that these two cases be transferred to the CPCIT investigation.

While the legislature is in session, DGP Sylenthrababu is devoting great attention to guarantee that such situations do not occur again. He has already sent police officers circulars outlining how to conduct investigations into detainees in police custody. Detainees should not be confined at police stations at night in this case. DGP Sylenthrababu gave a verbal order to all district Commissioners of police and Superintendents of police that if the arrested suspects are convicted, they must appear in court by 6 p.m. and be remanded in custody (SPs).
