From time to time old cameras are replaced and new cameras are installed. In this case, it is planned to install 2,560 surveillance cameras in 32 railway stations in the first phase of the metro project.


Officials of chennai Metro rail Company said: In 32 railway stations including Vannarappet, Mannadi, High Court, Aranirdhottam, LIC, Ayaravilakku, AGTMS, Thenampet, Nandanam, Saidappet, Chinnamalai, Guindy, Alandur, Meenambakkam, Airport, Parangimalai, Koyambedu, Egmore, Central. It is planned to install 2,560 surveillance cameras at a cost of Rs.25 crore.

We plan to install up to 80 surveillance cameras at each station. New cameras are to be installed to replace old cameras. These are to be installed at the entrance of railway stations, interior, public gathering place, parking area and metro station premises.
