A crushing defeat for opposition's no-confidence..!?

The motion of no confidence presented by the opposition against the Modi government in the lok sabha was defeated by voice vote. The opposition had moved a no-confidence motion on the issue of violence in Manipur. However, prime minister Modi launched a heavy attack against the opposition parties, and after the speech, the motion of no confidence tabled by the opposition parties was voted on by voice vote in the lok sabha, which resulted in a crushing defeat. Opposition MPs walked out of the lok sabha during Modi's speech and the no-confidence motion was defeated.

Before the no-confidence vote, prime minister Narendra Modi replied on the no-confidence motion in the Lok Sabha. A vote of no confidence is always good for the BJP-NDA government and we will win the next election by a big margin, he said. Also, prime minister Modi has sarcastically said against the opposition that they are not properly prepared for the no-confidence motion. He also advised to come prepared when presenting the no-confidence motion in 2028.

In his two-hour-long speech, prime minister Modi lashed out at the opposition parties and vowed to bring peace to the northeastern state soon. Central and state governments are working round the clock to punish the accused and restore peace in the state. "I want to assure them that the whole country stands with the people of Manipur," PM Modi said.

A spat of words broke out in the lok sabha today after senior congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary called the violence in Manipur a civil war for the country and questioned the Prime Minister's silence on the issue. bjp mp jyotiraditya scindia reminded the house that there were countless clashes and deaths in the North Eastern state during the congress rule.

TMC mp Mahua Moitra, who launched a non-stop attack on the ruling government even before Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary, said the ongoing violence in Manipur was a "huge failure" of the BJP. And the TMC mp said that the opposition's no-confidence motion was aimed at ending the Centre's "code of silence in Manipur". “This declaration is to break this code of silence in Manipur. prime minister Modi will not listen to us, he will come and give a speech on the last day. And I don't know which is more unfortunate, whether our prime minister refuses to come to parliament or he refuses to go to Manipur.
