The Enforcement Directorate (ED) submitted a charge sheet against the minister before Principal Sessions Judge S Alli on august 12. He took the charge sheet under consideration and forwarded it to the special court that handles matters involving MPs and MLAs.
On Thursday, a city court shifted the ongoing money laundering case against detained tamil Nadu minister V Senthil balaji to this location's special court for MPs and MLAs. The charge sheet against the minister was presented before Principal Sessions Judge S Alli by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on august 12. The judge took the charge sheet under consideration and forwarded it to the special court that hears cases involving MPs and MLAs.
The judge stated in her order, "complaint and records perused." Sections 3 and 4 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) have been taken into account. The case has been transferred to Special court No. 1 for the hearing of matters involving tamil Nadu MPs and MLAs." The matter was scheduled for the next hearing on august 28. When balaji served as the Transport minister under the previous AIADMK government, the ED apprehended him on june 14 in relation to a cash-for-jobs scheme.
