On Friday, the telangana government unveiled yet another plan to deposit the subsidy component offered to weavers as part of the Chenetha scheme straight into their bank accounts. As a result, each qualifying weaver in the State would get a monthly deposit of Rs. 3,000 per loom into their accounts. Each weaver would receive Rs. 2000, and each auxiliary employee would receive Rs. 1000. Each loom worker would receive Rs. 500 per month if there were two of them.

Weavers are given assistance by the State Handlooms department through the 40% input subsidy for yarn, dyes, and chemicals related pay compensation system. However, the National Handloom Development Corporation was where the weavers had to buy their raw materials, and there was a delay in putting the invoice information into the system. The payment used to be made to the weavers after submitting the bills. The subsidy component is now being put directly into the bank accounts, eliminating the lengthy process.

The streamlined Chenetha mithra plan would assist close to 35,000 weavers and support personnel. According to a senior department official, telangana was maybe the only State in the nation to transfer the subsidy component straight into the weavers' accounts. As a result, the department's field workers must update the status of the loom's operation once a month. To receive the salary reimbursement, the weaver must additionally provide a photo utilising facial recognition software.

The operating loom must be recognised by connection to the current Nethannaku Cheyutha Scheme (TSHWTFS) for successful deployment in order to saturate the coverage. For the programme, the State government has approved 90 crore rupees annually. KT Rama Rao, the handlooms minister, had announced the initiative to deposit the subsidy component under the amended Chenetha mithra programme at Manneguda Handlooms Day festivities last month. MLC L ramana praised the effort and thanked chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and the minister for doing it. No other State government offered weavers and employees Rs. 5 lakh in insurance coverage and Rs. 25,000 in health insurance.
