Congress General Secretary K.C. Venugopal has explained why the television presenters were ignored. The first meeting of the All india Alliance of Opposition parties, which is united against the bjp, was held in patna last june and the second meeting was held in Bengaluru in July. Subsequently, the third meeting of the india Alliance was held in mumbai, the capital of Maharashtra. At the mumbai meeting of the 28-party india Alliance, a 14-member coordination committee was formed, the highest decision-making body of the alliance. Following this, the first coordination committee meeting of the All india Alliance of Opposition parties was held at Sarathpawar's residence in delhi on the evening of 13th.

In the meeting, various issues including seat division, fielding a general candidate against the bjp and campaigning were discussed. In particular, it was announced that the india alliance would boycott certain tv anchors and programs. The Coordinating Committee authorized a Sub-Committee on media to decide which anchored debate on the tv channel the parties in the indian Alliance could send their representatives to. The opposition coalition also decided to boycott presenters who did not agree with their views.

Subsequently, the representatives and spokespersons of India's allied parties announced that they would boycott the programs of 14 journalists working in various media organizations and their list was published. The india alliance also accused a section of the media of continuing to be hostile.

BJP strongly reacted to this decision of india alliance. In this situation, congress General Secretary K.C. Venugopal has given an explanation as to why tv presenters were ignored. He said, "The media are the guardians of democracy. The role of media in correcting the mistakes of the government is immense. Similarly, the media also helps the opposition parties to comment. But, unfortunately some. They are supporting the government in the media and destroying the face of the opposition. It is a journalistic activity sponsored by the prime minister Modi-led government. That is why the indian alliance has taken this decision.” He said.
