With immediate effect, the commission paid to ration dealers has been increased from Rs. 700 to Rs. 1400 per tonne. On Saturday, the jac leaders were given the government directive boosting the rise by the minister for Civil Supplies, G. Kalamalakar, at his home. Last month, K Chandrashekhar Rao, the chief minister, gave traders a guarantee to this effect.

About 17000 households who sell ration cards in the state would profit from the commission increase to the tune of Rs 303 crores, of which Rs 245 crore will be covered by the State Government. The minister encouraged the dealers to reach out to the public distribution system beneficiaries without causing them any difficulty while assuring them of full government assistance. The welfare of the poor is the chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao's top focus.

The public distribution system is being funded by the state with Rs 3000 crores. Following the creation of the state, the dealers' commission was increased twice, from Rs 200 to Rs 900 per tonne to Rs 1400 again. Each of the 91 lakh recipients received 6 kg of rice from the State government. The minister stated that the government has taken the request for a dealership grant along the lines of the compassionate appointments to the heirs of 100 dealers who passed away while working during the epidemic under consideration.

The government has also promised to adopt Rythu Bima-style insurance for ration traders worth Rs 5 lakh. Every dealer will fall under arogyasri thanks to the insurance. Other requests that the government took into consideration included the installation of weighbridges for precise weighing at MLS locations and the renewal of dealerships every five years.
