chief minister Nitish Kumar led bihar government on monday released the findings of the much-awaited
caste-based census (Bihar Caste survey Report), which revealed that Other backward classes (OBC) and
Extremely backward classes (EBC) constitute more than half of the state’s total population. 63 percent of the
population. Political reactions have started coming regarding this. Former chief minister Jitan ram Manjhi has
given a statement on this. He made a big demand for SC-ST, OBC and EBC on X. He said that the government
should implement reservation in government jobs/local bodies according to the percentage of population in the
state.
They are being exploited. Jitan ram Manjhi wrote that the report of caste based census has come in Bihar. There is a large population of
SC/ST, OBC, EBC in the state but they are being exploited. I urge chief minister Nitish Kumar to implement
reservation in government jobs/local bodies according to the percentage of population in the state, only that will
be fair.
Yadav community is largest in terms of population- report
Let us tell you that according to the caste based census data released by bihar Development Commissioner
Vivek Singh, the total population of the state is a little more than 13.07 crores, out of which EBC is the largest
social class with 36 percent. After this OBC is 27.13 percent. The survey also said that the Yadav community
included in the OBC group is 14.27 percent of the total population of the state. State Deputy Chief Minister
Tejashwi Yadav also belongs to this community. This community is the largest in terms of population in the
state. At the same time, the bihar government had ordered caste-based enumeration in the state last year when
the central government led by prime minister Narendra Modi had made it clear that it would not include castes
other than Scheduled Castes and scheduled tribes as part of the general census. Will not be able to calculate.
