Tamil Nadu bjp leader annamalai has urged that the anarchy of encroachment on temple properties and Atheena properties should be stopped and the hospital belonging to Dharumapuram Atheena should be reconstructed and provided immediately. In a post published by tamil Nadu bjp President annamalai, "2 acres of land belonging to Atheenam was given to set up a free hospital in mayiladuthurai on behalf of Darumapuram Atheenam, and it was inaugurated by the then madras Chief minister Mr. Kumaraswamyraja in July 1951. Free medical treatment has been provided.

Later, this hospital was handed over to the municipal administration and has been functioning as a free maternity hospital. In this situation, due to the lack of maintenance of the mayiladuthurai Municipality, the hospital building has not been functioning for the last five years and the municipality has not reconstructed the hospital. In october 2019, the municipal administration has brought a new microbial warehouse to separate the garbage in spite of the public's opposition. At present, the micro-storage facility is also non-functional, and the area is seen as a sanitary disorder due to the accumulation of garbage. On behalf of Darumapuram Atheenam, Atheenam has written a letter to the municipality to maintain and run the hospital they built, but there is no response from the municipality, now there are reports that the municipality is going to demolish the building. Dharumapuram Atheenam donated the free hospital, which was started for the welfare of the public, but the municipality has seized it, and today it has destroyed its purpose due to the government's negligence and has turned it into a garbage dump without maintenance.

We urge the DMK government to stop the anarchy of encroachment on temple properties and Adeena properties and to immediately renovate and provide the Dharumapuram Adeena hospital and to abandon the attempt to demolish the hospital building. If not, we inform you that bjp will join the protest in support of Dharumapuram Atheenam,” said Annamalai.
