The countdown for assembly elections has started in Rajasthan. All the leaders are counting down because
elections are coming closer. In such a situation, the parties are looking at every equation regarding the candidates.
BJP has released its first list with the election bugle. Now everyone is eagerly waiting for the list of Congress
party, but an interesting twist is being seen on four assembly seats in Mewar. There are four such assembly seats
from where veteran congress leaders have been losing continuously in the last two elections. Still, the equations
are such that even the parties are forced to think whether their ticket should be canceled and someone else should
be given a chance or they should be fielded again. Know what is the problem of congress on four seats?
Talking about assembly seats in Mewar, there are 28 seats. Prominent among these are 8 assembly seats of
Udaipur district (including the newly formed Salumber district). Out of these 8 seats, 6 are called strongholds of
BJP, but interestingly, four assembly seats Gogunda, udaipur Rural, Salumbar and Mavli are where veteran
Congress leaders contest. The surprising thing is that veteran leaders contesting from these seats have been facing
defeat for the last two consecutive times.
Udaipur Rural assembly Seat
Udaipur Rural assembly seat was earlier considered to be the stronghold of congress and it was from here that
late congress leader Khemraj Katara became mla and also served as a minister. After his death there was a
change in this assembly. congress fielded Khemraj Katara's wife Sajjan Katara in the 2013 elections. In front of
him was BJP's Phool Singh meena who won. In 2018, the party once again expressed confidence and gave the
ticket to Sajjan Katara's son vivek Katara and had to face defeat, but after this assembly, panchayati Raj elections
were held in which Sajjan Katara, who won from Girwa panchayat of udaipur, became the head. Now the matter
of concern for the party is that congress does not have any big face here and on the other hand the Katara family
is losing twice.
