He lauded the exhibition being organized to provide glimpses of the future in the field of telecommunication, technology and connectivity.
Mentioning various sectors including 6G, artificial intelligence, cyber security, semiconductors, drones, space industries, deep sea, green technology, he said that the future will be completely different and it is a pleasure to lead the technological revolution of our younger generation. prime minister Modi recalled that the introduction of 5g in india last year surprised the world. He said that after the success of 5g, india did not stop there and took on the task of bringing it to every individual. He said that india has moved from the 5g introduction phase to the 5g reach phase. Within a year of the launch of 5g, the prime minister noted the development of 4 lakh 5g base stations covering over 97 percent of cities and over 80 percent of the population.
He pointed out that the average mobile broadband speed has increased by 3 times in a year. india has improved from 118th position to 43rd position in terms of broadband speed, he said. He mentioned that india is not only focusing on expanding the 5g infrastructure in the country but also becoming a leadership country in 6G. Pointing out the corruption in the 2G spectrum allocation, the prime minister said that the 4G spectrum allocation that took place during the tenure of the current government was done without any corruption. He also expressed hope that india will take the lead in 6G technology.
Beyond rank and number growth, he said, internet connectivity and speed lead to improved lives. He described the benefits of improved connectivity and speed in education, medicine, tourism and agriculture. He said that he believed in the power of democratization and that the benefits of development should reach every section and region.
