The madurai branch of the high court has questioned whether Sivagangai district should run the Kanda Devi temple procession with the help of paramilitary forces. The chariot festival will be held in close proximity to the festival which can be held in the month of Ani at Kanda Devi Sornamurtheeswarar temple in Sivagangai district. A new chariot has been built for this temple. But the procession is not taking place. In the case filed in 2019, the judges had already ordered the procession. However, the procession did not take place. In this situation, when this plaintiff appeared in the madurai branch of the high court today, the chariot was ready. But the public prosecutor said that there will be a law and order problem as there are problems between different sects. The madurai branch of the high court, which recorded this, said that it is regrettable that even after 75 years of independence, there is no unity among the various sections. The court also directed that the government should understand the sentiments of all sections of the people.

After all, you spend several crores of rupees and build a chariot parked on the street? The madurai branch judge of the high court questioned, "If the state government cannot conduct the Kanda Devi temple chariot race, should I run the chariot with the help of the paramilitary? He asked a barrage of questions.

In addition, the madurai branch of the high court has also ordered to submit a report on november 17 regarding the conduct of chariot race.
