Why are concerns about the Ethics Committee report?
The Parliamentary Ethics Committee has concluded its inquiry into the Cash for Query (asking questions in exchange for money) affair. Sources claim that the Ethics Committee has written a nearly 500-page report on this subject. The lok sabha Speaker has received a recommendation from the committee to terminate Mahua's membership. Six out of ten committee members have sent the lok sabha Speaker their report because they view this as a serious offense. Four members sent in their protest notes on the membership cancellation. The Speaker will take additional action on Mahua after the committee's report is presented to the Lok Sabha.
Mahua also published a social media message following the committee report. Mahua wrote that "my path to 2024 has become easy because of this bjp conspiracy." She has declared that in 2024, I will be back in parliament. However, political groups are debating the prompt action against Mahua Moitra. Danish Ali, a BSP mp and member of the ethics committee, stated that the topic was not thoroughly discussed.
Ali claims that the committee chairman brought up voting as soon as we arrived at the meeting. After asking everyone to raise their hands, the meeting was adjourned. Vinod Sonkar, the chairman of the committee, had been silent during the entire situation.
