The tamil Film Journalists Association has made 3 major demands to the tamil Nadu government to do something in Vijayakanth's memory. Mr. Vijayakanth, who started the National Progressive Dravida Association for about 40 years, worked well in tamil Nadu politics for 18 years, was a member of the tamil Nadu Legislative assembly twice, once as the leader of the opposition party, and fondly called Captain by everyone, died yesterday (28 december 2023). ) passed away without health.


Tributes were paid in person by the tamil Film Journalists Association. Our condolences to his bereaved family. In this case, on behalf of our association, we make 3 important demands to the tamil Nadu government as follows:

1. The main road in Saligramam or Virugambakkam area of chennai where late Mr. 'Captain' Vijayakanth lived should be named as 'Captain' Vijayakanth Road or 'Puratsikalaijnar' Vijayakanth Road.


2. In the film industry awards given by the tamil Nadu government, from now on 'Captain' Vijayakanth award or 'Revolutionary' Vijayakanth award should be documented.


3. A full-length statue of 'Captain' Vijaykanth should be erected on behalf of the government in madurai, the capital of madurai district where the late Mr. 'Captain' Vijayakanth was born.


The chief minister of tamil Nadu made these demands in order to drum up the timeless achievements of Captain Vijayakanth in the film industry and in politics. Mr. Stalin, sports minister Mr. Udhayanidhi, Information minister Vellakoil Saminathan and chennai Mayor Mrs. priya have been requested to submit the request.
