delhi Lieutenant governor Vinai Kumar Saxena has given permission for cbi investigation against two officials of delhi Government attached to the Forest and Wildlife Department in a corruption case of Rs 223 crore. In another case, the lg allowed acb to investigate two senior nurses of a delhi government-run hospital in a bribery case of Rs 60,000. In both the cases, the lg has approved proposals for investigation under Section 17A of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018. raj Niwas officials said he remarked that it was in the interest of justice that an investigation be conducted against the accused. The cbi had registered a case against Parasnath Yadav, the then senior accounts officer in the Forest and Wildlife Department, and Alam Singh Rawat, assistant accounts officer, for their alleged involvement in a criminal conspiracy.

What are the allegations against the officers?

Both of them are accused of being the then senior branch manager of Paharganj branch of bank of Baroda, L.A. Involved in criminal conspiracy with Khan and others. The accused 'illegally' and 'unauthorisedly' transferred Rs 223 crore from 'Sundry' account to a fake savings account in the name of delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB) in the same branch on the basis of forged letter issued in the name of Forest and Wildlife Department.

Bribe was demanded in the second case

In another case, the Anti-Corruption Branch has accused two women employees of the health Department of demanding an alleged bribe of Rs 60,000 each from two nursing officers in return for 'easy duty'. The accused have been identified as Chanchal rani Pisalla and Rajnesh Verma. Both were posted as Deputy Nursing Superintendent and Nursing Officer respectively at Govind Vallabh (GB) pant Hospital at the time of the incident. A nursing officer also alleged that the two accused had already taken Rs 42,000 for exemption from Covid-19 desk duties.
