I have resigned from the primary membership of congress and with this my family's 55-year-old relationship with the party has ended. I am grateful to all the leaders, colleagues and workers for their unwavering support over the years.'' There has been speculation for the past few days that he may join the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena.
