In the key constituency of machilipatnam (Port) in krishna district, all major political parties, including tdp, ycp, and Janasena, have a strong presence. Historically, in the 2009 and 2014 elections, konakalla narayana of tdp secured victories as the Bandar MP. However, in the 2019 elections, Vallabhaneni Balashauri from ycp emerged victorious, defeating Konakalla Narayana.

Recently, Vallabhaneni Balashauri, the current Bandar mp, resigned from ycp and announced his intention to join the Jana Sena party. With this development, ycp is now searching for a formidable candidate for the crucial Bandar lok sabha constituency.
Initially, there were plans to field ycp MLA Kolusu parthasaradhi from Penamalur as the Bandar mp candidate, but he has decided to contest from Penamalur and is reportedly set to join TDP. As a result, ycp is facing a situation without a strong candidate for the Bandar mp seat.
In response, there are speculations that chief minister jagan mohan reddy is considering allocating the Bandar mp seat to a Muslim candidate as a strategic move. Ayub Khan, the current President of krishna district Muslim Minority, is being touted as a potential candidate. Ayub Khan, known for his proximity to the ysr family and his political alignment with jagan, may become the ycp candidate for Bandar mp if a suitable alternative is not identified.
The decision to field a Muslim candidate in a constituency where Kapus and Gowdas form the majority has added an element of intrigue. It remains to be seen whether this political experiment by jagan will yield positive results in the Bandar lok sabha constituency.
