As per report a case has been registered under the POCSO Act against congress MP Rahul gandhi for the alleged rape and murder of a minor girl in delhi Cantt area in 2021. This information has been given by the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights. delhi police has registered this case against Rahul gandhi for revealing the identity of the victim girl and her family. In this regard, National Commission for Protection of Child Rights Chairman Priyank Kanungo said that the sections under which the case has been registered against Rahul gandhi have a provision of punishment ranging from 6 months to 2 years.
Meanwhile Chairman of the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights said, "The matter is serious. Therefore, his arrest should be made as soon as possible. delhi police has already delayed this case, so there should be no further delay." According to Bar & Bench, earlier on Wednesday, delhi High court disposed of the petition filed by social activist Makrand suresh Mhadlekar in the case. Rahul gandhi told the bench headed by Acting Chief Justice manmohan that he has removed the post from his X account. Mhadlekar had argued in his petition that the congress MP had posted the picture to take political advantage.
Moreover in view of the police report, the police requested the court to dispose of the petition as the relief sought by Mhadlekar has been granted. police said that the girl died due to electric shock and there is no scientific evidence that it was a case of rape and murder. delhi police said in its report that in september 2021, an FIR was registered against gandhi under Section 23 of the POCSO Act and the indian Penal Code (IPC). An investigation was conducted in this matter.
