Reportedly BJP's first candidate list for the upcoming lok sabha elections 2024 was released and the names of five candidates from delhi were announced in it. Surprisingly, mp Harsh Vardhan's name was not there in it. That is, the party canceled his ticket from chandni Chowk seat and expressed confidence in businessman Praveen Khandelwal. After this, Dr. Harsh Vardhan's reaction has now come to light. He said, 'After an illustrious electoral career of more than thirty years (during which I contested all five assembly and two parliamentary elections and won with huge votes), I am now returning to my roots.' That means harsh vardhan has announced his political retirement.

Meanwhile Dr. harsh vardhan further wrote in the post, 'Fifty years ago, when I joined MBBS at GSVM Medical College, kanpur with the desire to help the poor and needy, service to mankind was my ideal. I am a volunteer at heart and always try to serve the last person in the queue. I have also been an ardent admirer of Deen Dayal Upadhyay's Antyodaya philosophy. On the request of the then RSS leadership, I jumped into the electoral fray. The Sangh could convince me only because for me politics means an opportunity to fight poverty, disease and ignorance.

Not only this, the chandni Chowk mp further wrote, 'Without any regrets, I must say that it was a wonderful innings during which my passion to serve the common man was quenched. Having served as the health Minister of delhi as well as the Union health Minister twice, this is a subject close to my heart. I got the rare opportunity to first work towards creating a polio-free india and then take care of the health of millions of our countrymen battling the dreaded COVID-19 during its first and second phases.
