It has been reported that famous Dada Mukhtar Ansari, who was lodged in the Uttar Pradesh state jail, died of a heart attack. He was admitted to Panda Medical college Hospital on wednesday morning due to abdominal pain.

While he was admitted to the intensive care unit, heavy police security was deployed in the ICU area of the medical college. In this case, he is said to have died.

The 60-year-old's health had been deteriorating for the past few days. Even on march 23, Mukhtar Ansari was hospitalized for 14 hours due to stomach pain.

Sunil Kaushal, principal of rani Durgavati Medical college, Banda, said, "Ansari was admitted to the hospital around 3.45 am due to abdominal pain and problem urinating."

Former mla Mukhtar Ansari contested from the Mau Sadar constituency and won five times. He last contested the assembly elections in 2017.

Since 2005, U.P. has been in jail in Punjab. More than 60 criminal cases are pending against him. Ansari was convicted in eight cases by different courts of UP in september 2022 and lodged in Banda jail.

In this case, Ansari's lawyer alleged that last week, he was given poisoned food inside the jail, due to which his health deteriorated. He also said that poisoned food was given before 40 days.

Ansari was sentenced to life imprisonment on march 13 in the fake gun license case nearly 30 years ago. The MP-MLA court also imposed a total fine of Rs 2 lakh on Ansari under various penal provisions.
