More news has come to light regarding the lok sabha elections in Punjab. In the proposed lok sabha elections, the son of one of the assassins of former prime minister Indira gandhi announced on thursday that he will contest the upcoming lok sabha elections from the Faridkot seat of Punjab. Sarabjit Singh (45) said that many people of Faridkot asked him to contest the elections, so he will contest the elections as an independent. The shocking thing is that Sarabjit Singh is the son of Beant Singh, one of the two assassins of Indira Gandhi. The then prime minister Indira gandhi was shot dead by her bodyguards Beant Singh and Satwant Singh at her residence on 31 october 1984.

Sarabjit has contested elections from bathinda and Fatehgarh.

Sarabjit Singh had contested the 2004 lok sabha elections from Bathinda's seat and was unsuccessful. He got 1.13 lakh votes. He had also contested the punjab Assembly elections in 2007 from Bhadaur seat of Barnala, but had to face defeat.

Mother Bimal was elected mp from Ropar

Sarabjit tried his luck again in the 2014 lok sabha elections from the Fatehgarh Sahib seat but he again lost. His mother Bimal Kaur was elected mp from Ropar seat in 1989. Voting for 13 lok sabha seats of punjab will be held on june 1.

Hans raj Hans is contesting from Faridkot.

Aam Aadmi party has fielded actor Karamjeet Anmol from Faridkot lok sabha seat. Whereas the bharatiya janata party has made singer Hans raj Hans its candidate.
